Do metal buildings have insulation in the roof? Seems like a lot of heat/cooling loss would happen if there is no insulation.

Yes, big energy losses on the horizon in a non-insulated metal building- I don't care whereever you are in the country. Most metal buildings do have insulation in them-eventually--however a lot of consumers think it automatically comes with the building and it doesn't. Some times the standard size buildings (30x40, 40x60) come as a pre-package with the insulation. However, check that R-Value and U-value rating to make sure it's not the lowest possible number. Trust me you don't want Florida recommendations on roof inulation being laid down in Minnesota!!!
Plus the type of insulation you choose is important...it's not all fiberglass

Good thing they don't use asbestoes anymore. Make sure you use gloves when handling that fiberglass.
