So just what is it with a "cool roof" that makes it reflect away more heat. Is it just the ingrediant in the paint pigment. So then it has to be painted (correct?) to be a "cool roof" Hasn't there been any research on the right pitch of roof to optimize heat delection? Wouldn't whether the roofline runs east/west or north/south also impact heat deflection? Maybe you maximize those last 2 things and save on the cost of a "cool roof". Expensive, no?!?
