I am going to try and build this next Summer. I would like to shoot for late June of '08. In Montana there are barely tolerable Summers to get by with justceiling fans in a masonry house or we just leave the doors and windows open (we are in the country). My question is does metal drive the heat up so that HVAC is required because ceiling fans won't suffice? I see metal buildings but not many with HVAC unless they are in town. We are planning a 40x60 as a market as a better location to our current one.

What kind of market? If it like a farmers market you might not need HVAC. But I would say the more comfortable the building the more customers you will attract.

What part of Montana are you in?

North of Bozeman...as a matter of fact it is a farmer's market...you know the organics semi-outdoor with the dry goods inside, also fishing rods, lures etc. Point of sale like a hexagonal kiosk in the center of the store. I'm more worried about the staff being comfortable during an 8 hour day manning what I hope will be busy check-out stations

I'd drop by for the bait for fly fishing.

Get an HVAC unit that goes through the wall if at all possible ...not the roof. The less "penetrations" on a roof the better.
