Everthing I read about metal buildings says that you can always make them longer but you can't make them wider. But can't you add single slopes later to either side of the building "effectively" making them wider? Your only concern then would be the removal of a portion of the side panels and the tapered beams you'd have to leave in place and work access to the new structures around them. Right or wrong?

Do you mean like adding stalls to a riding arena. Why wouldn't you plan for that eventuality before building? Justa wonderin....

Buy the width of the building for the largest you may even conceive of it being needed. It would be helpful if I knew what you were going to use the building for, assuming you are putting one up.

I'm not putting one up quite yet but the answer to the question still tugs at me. Anybody else know per my question at the start of this thread?

No doubt you can do that bu, again, it begs the question of why one would want to do that with the expense at the back end and not plan for the less expensive option of getting that "extra" width to begin with.:)
