If I order a new metal building for a project does the company know my codes? Or do I show up at the city building code office and ask them and then tell the company what they said. They have to make it the way I understand the codes and not what they recommend. RIGHT? WRONG?

First of all it is your responsibility to find out the codes and loads for your steel building or metal or whatever not the company you are buying it from. Second, you may not even be allowed to build. Some communities have very strict rules against allowing steel buildings. Get the code office to say yes you can build then get the specs and loads they require THEN rlay that to the company. You cannot put up a metal building that is pre-engineered to the wrong loads.

Codes are a fluid thing and they change frequently. Where are you located?
