Do you always have to pull a permit for a metal building? Whose to check around if you put one up in the country? Buiding inspectors go to the sticks to bother people? MAKES SENSE

It sounds like you have made up your mind to do that. Some, and I mean some, agricultural buildings are exempt form the permit situation but why take the risk? Find out by calling a building inspector and see if it applies to you. They don't tap the phone lines for gosh sakes.

I don't think that building inspectors ply their trade and see it in a fashion of "bothering" anyone. One of their functions is to look for those things as violations that won't "bother" anyone but could injure or even kill someone.

What would they be looking for?

Good inspectors are basically making sure a building is habitable, to code, and safe.
